Today, drawing123.com will guide you how to easily draw a clarinet with simple steps.
Let’s get started!

Step 1: The Mouthpiece and Barrel Base
Begin by drawing a small, thin oval in the upper-left area to represent the tip of the mouthpiece. From this oval, extend two straight lines diagonally downward and to the right, slightly flaring outward to form the initial section of the instrument.

Step 2: The First Barrel Ring
Connect the ends of the two lines with a larger oval ring that wraps around the body. From the edges of this new ring, extend two more short, parallel straight lines continuing in the same diagonal direction.

Step 3: The Second Barrel Ring
Add another prominent oval ring at the end of the short section drawn in the previous step. Once again, extend two parallel straight lines outward from this ring to continue building the upper body of the instrument.

Step 4: Extending the Main Body
Cap off the previous section with a third oval ring. From this ring, draw two very long, perfectly straight parallel lines extending far down towards the bottom-right corner to form the main upper and lower joints of the clarinet.

Step 5: Shaping the Bell
Close the end of the long body lines with a final oval ring. From the edges of this ring, draw two curved lines that flare outward significantly like a funnel, and connect them at the bottom with a wide, curved arch to complete the flared bell of the clarinet.

Step 6: Adding Tone Holes
Draw a series of small, open circles along the front face of the main body to represent the tone holes. Place one circle in the upper section between the rings, three small circles grouped closely below the third ring, and four more circles paired up along the lower half of the long tube.

Step 7: Drawing the Upper Keys
Add a long, narrow rectangular box along the top edge of the lower section of the main body. Then, on the underside of the upper barrel section, draw a stepped, geometric key mechanism consisting of straight lines forming small connected blocks.

Step 8: Detail the Side Keys
Add details to the top rectangular box by dividing it into three separate sections with short vertical lines. This completes all the line-art details for the clarinet structure.

Step 9: Coloring the Instrument
Bring the drawing to life with color. Fill the entire body, rings, and bell of the clarinet with a soft, bright pastel yellow. For all the small tone holes, the top rectangular keys, and the underside key mechanisms, fill them with a slightly darker, contrasting orange-gold shade.

Step 1: The Flared Bell
Begin near the upper-left corner by drawing the bell of the clarinet. Create a funnel shape with two outwardly curved sides, a wide arched line at the top-left opening, and a narrower curved base line at the bottom-right.

Step 2: The Connecting Ring
Add a short rectangular ring extension directly below the narrow base of the bell, following the same diagonal path downward and to the right.

Step 3: Drawing the Main Body
Extend a very long, straight tube consisting of two parallel lines stretching diagonally downward and to the right from the ring section. Close the bottom of this tube with a flat, straight line.

Step 4: Adding the Lower Ring
Draw another short rectangular ring at the bottom end of the long clarinet body tube.

Step 5: Shaping the Mouthpiece
Attach a tapering mouthpiece to the end of the lower ring. Draw two lines that angle inward and finish with a small, flat tip at the very bottom-right.

Step 6: Placing the Tone Holes
Draw a neat row of six medium-sized circles along the center of the long body tube to represent the main finger holes.

Step 7: Adding the Key Mechanisms
Draw an interconnected, geometric key structure alongside four of the middle holes. This mechanism consists of a series of right-angled, overlapping hook shapes that attach to the upper-right edge of those circles.

Step 8: Applying the Final Colors
Finish the drawing by filling in the details with distinct colors. Color the entire main body structure, including the bell, tube sections, and mouthpiece tip, with a dark charcoal grey. For the two connecting rings, all six circular finger holes, and the geometric side key mechanism, fill them with a solid, light silver-grey.

Step 1: Outline the Bell Angle
Begin by sketching two simple lines on the right side of the canvas to establish the angle and position of the instrument’s bell. Draw one slanted straight line going upward to the right and a slightly curved horizontal line below it.

Step 2: Form the Bell and Lower Joint
Build the flared bell shape by connecting the previous lines with two rounded, pill-shaped enclosures. Draw a large, long rounded cap at the far right end and a smaller rounded ring structure on the left side to define the base of the lower body.

Step 3: Extend the Main Body
Extend the main body of the clarinet by drawing two long, straight lines stretching downward and to the left from the smaller rounded ring. These lines should taper slightly closer together as they move away from the bell.

Step 4: Add the Mouthpiece
Seal the left end of the body with a straight vertical connecting line, then add a pointed, wedge-like shape at the very tip to represent the mouthpiece of the instrument.

Step 5: Draw the Tone Holes
Add four evenly spaced circles along the upper edge of the straight body tube to represent the tone holes or key rings.

Step 6: Sketch the Key Mechanism
Add the mechanical rods beneath the body. Draw a small vertical line extending downward from each of the four circles, and connect them underneath with a parallel horizontal rod structure.

Step 7: Apply the Final Colors
Complete the artwork by filling in the final colors. The main cylindrical body and the flared bell section are colored in a deep dark blue. The mouthpiece, the two ring borders on the bell, the four tone holes, and the lower key mechanism are all filled with a light beige or off-white color.

Step 1: Outline the Mouthpiece
Begin by drawing the mouthpiece at the top of the canvas. Sketch a narrow horizontal line at the top, with two lines angled outwards coming down from it, followed by two short vertical lines at the base to create a wedge-like shape.

Step 2: Draw the Main Body
Extend the clarinet body downward from the mouthpiece. Draw a horizontal connecting line at the base of the mouthpiece, and then extend two long vertical lines downward that flare out slightly towards the bottom. Close the shape at the bottom with another horizontal line.

Step 3: Add the Flared Bell
Form the bell section at the very bottom of the body. Draw two angled lines flaring outwards and connect them at the base with a thick, rounded, pill-shaped enclosure.

Step 4: Detail the Mouthpiece
Add a horizontal line across the lower section of the mouthpiece to define the beak, and sketch a small arch or semi-circle inside the upper area to represent the opening.

Step 5: Add Body Rings
Segment the long cylindrical body by adding several horizontal lines across it. Draw two lines near the top barrel section, two in the middle section, and three near the bottom joint.

Step 6: Sketch the Tone Holes
Add four circles aligned vertically down the right side of the main body sections to mark the positions of the tone holes.

Step 7: Connect the Right-Side Keys
Draw the long mechanical rod on the right side. Connect each of the four circles to a vertical rod structure running parallel to the clarinet body.

Step 8: Add the Left-Side Key Rod
Sketch an additional long, narrow rectangular rod mechanism on the left side of the middle joint, running parallel to the body opposite the tone holes.

Step 9: Apply the Final Colors
Finish the illustration by applying the final colors. The main cylindrical body sections, the top mouthpiece, and the lower flared bell are all colored in a brick-red tone. The segmented body rings, the tone holes, the right-side rod mechanism, the left-side key rod, and the inner section of the mouthpiece opening are all filled with a solid gray color.

Step 1: Draw the Mouthpiece
Start by drawing the mouthpiece at the top right. Sketch a rounded, slightly tapered cap shape with a small oval indicator inside near the tip to represent the opening. Add a thick, rounded ring structure at the base of this mouthpiece.

Step 2: Form the Main Body
Extend two long, straight parallel lines diagonally downward to the left from the base of the mouthpiece to form the main body of the instrument. Cap the bottom of these lines with another thick, rounded ring structure.

Step 3: Add the Bell
Attach the flared bell at the bottom-left end. Draw two curved lines that fan outward from the lower ring, and join them at the bottom with a wide, rounded rim.

Step 4: Add Tone Holes
Sketch four small, evenly spaced circles along the middle section of the main body to represent the tone holes.

Step 5: Add Upper Keys
Begin detailing the keywork on the upper section of the body, just below the mouthpiece. Add a rectangular key pad connected to two circular keys by straight rod lines.

Step 6: Add Side Key Mechanism
Draw an additional elongated key pad and a parallel mechanism rod running along the lower-right edge of the upper body section.

Step 7: Add Lower Keys
Finish the instrument’s mechanism by adding the lower keys on the section closer to the bell. This includes two square-shaped pads connected by a small u-shaped rod system.

Step 8: Color the Drawing
Bring the instrument to life with color. Fill the main body, mouthpiece, and bell sections with a vibrant blue. Color all the connecting rings, tone holes, rods, and keys with a solid light grey.

Hopefully, this drawing tutorial on Clarinet will help you easily create a nice drawing.
