Today, drawing123.com will guide you how to easily draw a cockroach with simple steps.
Let’s get started!

Step 1: The Outer Eyes
Start by drawing two large circles side-by-side in the upper center of your page. These circles should be touching each other to form the base of the eyes.

Step 2: The Inner Eyes
Inside each of the large circles, draw a smaller horizontal oval. These will serve as the pupils/highlights of the cockroach’s eyes.

Step 3: The Head
Draw a semi-circle (a curved line) that arcs over the top of the eyes and connects with a straight horizontal line across the bottom, just below the eyes. This creates the head shape.

Step 4: The Antennae
Add two thin, curved lines sprouting from the top center of the head, between the eyes. These curve outward like blades of grass to form the antennae.

Step 5: The Body
Starting from the corners of the head, draw a large “U” shape or a rounded rectangle to form the main body of the cockroach.

Step 6: The Wing Line
Draw a single vertical line down the center of the body. Start from the bottom of the head and stop just before you reach the bottom of the body. This represents the division between the wings.

Step 7: The Legs
Draw six legs (three on each side). Each leg is made of two short straight lines connected at an angle, pointing slightly upward and then outward.

Step 8: The Feet
At the bottom of the body, draw two “L-shaped” feet. These consist of a vertical stem and a small triangular base pointing outward.

Step 9: Coloring
Finally, color your drawing! Use a dark brown for the head and the legs, a lighter brown for the main body, and fill the pupils with black.

Step 1: The Eyes and Pupils
Draw two large, overlapping vertical ovals for the eyes. Add a small solid dot near the bottom of each oval to create the pupils.

Step 2: The Antennae
Draw two long lines curving upward and outward from the top center where the eyes meet. Place a small circle at the end of each line to finish the antennae.

Step 3: The Mouth
Add a small, wavy horizontal line just below the eyes to give the cockroach a simple mouth.

Step 4: The Body Outline
Draw a large, tall oval that starts from the sides of the eyes and encompasses the mouth, forming the main shape of the body.

Step 5: The Neck Line
Draw a slightly curved horizontal line across the upper part of the body, just below the mouth, to separate the head area from the torso.

Step 6: The Belly Outline
Inside the lower section of the body, draw a smaller, narrower oval that reaches from the neck line down to the bottom of the body.

Step 7: The Segment Lines
Add detail to the belly by drawing five evenly spaced horizontal lines across the inner oval.

Step 8: The Arms and Legs
Draw two arms extending from the sides of the body with circles at the ends. Then, draw two bent legs at the bottom with large, horizontal ovals for the feet.

Step 9: Coloring
Color the outer body and limbs a dark brown, the inner belly segments a lighter orange-brown, and keep the eyes white.

Step 1: The Head and Eyes
Start by drawing a small horizontal arc for the top of the head. On each end of the arc, draw a small circle to represent the compound eyes, and add two short vertical lines descending from the eyes.

Step 2: The Antennae
From the top of the head, draw two long, graceful curved lines sweeping upwards and outwards. These are the cockroach’s long feelers.

Step 3: The Pronotum (Neck Shield)
Below the head, draw a wide, shield-like shape that tapers slightly to a point at the bottom. This part of the thorax is called the pronotum.

Step 4: The Wings (Elytra)
Draw two large, elongated oval shapes starting from the base of the pronotum and extending downwards. These represent the folded wings.

Step 5: The Abdomen Tip
At the very bottom, where the wings meet, draw a small V-shaped tip to represent the end of the abdomen.

Step 6: Front Legs
Draw the first pair of legs attached to the upper section of the body (just below the pronotum). Each leg should have distinct joints, pointing upwards and then outward.

Step 7: Middle Legs
Add the second pair of legs starting from the middle of the body. These legs should angle downwards and outwards, ending in small, claw-like tips.

Step 8: Hind Legs
Draw the final, longest pair of legs at the bottom. These legs should extend straight down before curving slightly outward at the feet.

Step 9: Coloring
Finally, color your drawing. Use shades of brown: a lighter reddish-brown for the head, a medium brown for the pronotum, and a dark chocolate brown for the wings and legs.

Step 1: Draw the Head
Start by drawing a large horizontal oval near the top of your page to represent the cockroach’s head.

Step 2: Add the Antennae
From the top of the head, draw two long, arched lines sweeping outwards and down past the sides of the head.

Step 3: Draw the Face
Inside the oval head, draw two large circles for the eyes, each with a smaller circle inside for the pupils. Add a wide, smiling mouth below the eyes.

Step 4: Draw the Body Outline
Starting from the bottom of the head, draw a large, elongated V-shape with a rounded bottom to form the main body.

Step 5: Add Body Segments
Inside the body shape, draw four curved horizontal lines to create segments on the cockroach’s abdomen.

Step 6: Draw the Arms
On each side of the upper body, draw a pair of bent arms with small, rounded hands resting on the “hips”.

Step 7: Draw the Legs
At the bottom of the body, draw two short, curved legs ending in flat, oval-shaped feet.

Step 8: Add the Wings
Draw two long, straight lines extending from the arms down toward the feet to represent the outer edges of the folded wings.

Step 9: Color the Drawing
Finish by coloring the cockroach. Use a reddish-brown for the head and limbs, a light tan for the segmented belly, and a darker brown for the wings.

Step 1: Draw the Pronotum
Start by drawing a horizontal oval in the upper center of your page. This represents the pronotum, which is the shield-like structure covering the cockroach’s thorax.

Step 2: Add the Head
Draw a small semi-circle sitting on top of the oval. This will be the head of the cockroach.

Step 3: Draw the Antennae and Palps
From the top of the head, draw two long, sweeping curved lines extending outwards and downwards. Add two much smaller, slightly curved lines near the mouth area to represent the palps.

Step 4: Sketch the Wings (Body)
Below the pronotum, draw a large almond shape that tapers at the bottom. Add a curved vertical line down the middle to show the overlapping of the wings (the elytra).

Step 5: Add the Front Legs
Draw the first pair of legs (prothoracic legs) attached just under the pronotum. These should point upward and outward, ending in small, thin segments.

Step 6: Add the Middle Legs
Draw the second pair of legs (mesothoracic legs) attached to the middle of the body. These legs should point downward and outward at an angle.

Step 7: Add the Back Legs
Draw the final, longest pair of legs (metathoracic legs) near the bottom of the body. These should point almost straight down, consisting of a thicker upper segment and a long, thin lower segment.

Step 8: Detail the Spines
Cockroaches have “spiny” legs. Add several small, short diagonal lines along the outer edges of all six legs to represent these sensory spines.

Step 9: Color Your Drawing
Finish your artwork by coloring it. Use a light reddish-brown for the pronotum and a darker chocolate brown for the wings, head, and legs to give it a realistic look.

Step 1:
Draw two large, vertical ovals side-by-side that touch in the middle to form the base for the eyes.

Step 2:
Outline the head by drawing a large, rounded triangle shape that encompasses the bottom and sides of the eyes.

Step 3:
Draw a large, U-shaped curve attached to the bottom of the head to create the main body.

Step 4:
Add horizontal segments across the body by drawing four slightly curved lines from one side to the other.

Step 5:
Sketch the arms and hands; draw one arm waving upward on the left and another resting downward on the right, both ending in cartoonish, three-fingered hands.

Step 6:
Add the legs and feet by drawing two short lines extending from the bottom of the body, each connected to a large, horizontal oval representing the feet.

Step 7:
Draw the outer shell by adding two large curved lines that start from the sides of the head and wrap around the body toward the feet.

Step 8:
Create the long antennae by drawing two long, thin curves that start between the eyes and sweep down past the sides of the body.

Step 9:
Add the facial features; draw a wide, smiling mouth with small “cheek” lines at the ends, and place two sets of concentric circles inside the eyes to represent the pupils.

Step 10:
Finalize your drawing with color, using shades of brown for the body and shell, white for the hands and eyes, and a light blue for the pupils.

Hopefully, this drawing tutorial on Cockroach will help you easily create a cute drawing.
