Today, drawing123.com will guide you how to easily draw an otter with simple steps.
Let’s get started!

Step 1: Draw the Nose
Start by drawing a small, rounded triangle shape for the nose. This is the only shape in this step.

Step 2: Draw the Cheeks and Snout
Draw two large, connected, curved shapes beneath the nose to form the cheeks/snout. They should look like two upside-down “U” shapes joined in the middle.

Step 3: Draw the Head Outline
Draw a large curved line connecting the outer top edges of the snout to form the main outline of the head.

Step 4: Draw the Ears
Add two small, curved triangles or tiny “C” shapes on the sides of the head outline for the ears.

Step 5: Draw the Eyes
Draw two small, upward-curving lines just above the snout shapes for the closed, smiling eyes.

Step 6: Draw the Whiskers
Draw three to four whiskers extending from each side of the cheeks.

Step 7: Draw the Mouth
Draw a small, upward-curving line just below the nose/snout area to create a little smile or mouth.

Step 8: Draw the Arms/Paws
Draw the outline of the two front arms and paws hanging down from the head. The paws should have small, curved lines to indicate fingers/toes.

Step 9: Draw the Body and Feet
Extend the lines down from the arms to draw the main body outline. Add the webbed feet at the bottom with curved lines to show the toes.

Step 10: Draw the Tail
Adding a thick, curved, and tapered shape at the back for the tail.

Step 11: Add the Abdominal Oval
Draw a large, vertical oval on the center of the otter’s chest/abdomen. This shape will define the area where the otter holds an object.

Step 12: Draw the Shell
Draw a scallop seashell shape inside the otter’s front paws. Add vertical curved lines to give the shell texture.

Step 13: Color the Otter
Complete the drawing by coloring it. Use light brown/tan for the body and head, a lighter cream/white for the face and chest area, black for the nose, and a pale yellow/cream for the shell.

Step 1: Draw the Head Outline
Begin by drawing a simple, large upward curve for the top of the otter’s head.

Step 2: Add the Ears
Complete the circular/oval shape of the head (now in black). Add two small, curved shapes on the sides for the ears.

Step 3: Draw the Eyes and Brows
Draw two circles for the eyes. Add small, angled lines above each eye to suggest eyebrows, giving the otter an alert or slightly fierce expression.

Step 4: Draw the Muzzle and Nose
Draw a small circle for the nose, and a connected, ‘W’ or heart-like shape below it for the mouth and muzzle area.

Step 5: Draw the Front Arms and Paws
Draw two long, curved lines extending down from the sides of the head to form the upper part of the arms. Add the small, paw shapes with fingers/toes at the bottom.

Step 6: Draw the Inner Chest/Abdomen
Draw a long, narrow, vertical oval shape extending down from the paws. This defines the lighter-colored inner chest and belly area.

Step 7: Draw the Outer Body and Feet
Extend the lines from the arms downward to create the outline of the main body, curving slightly outward and then inward. Draw the large, webbed hind feet at the bottom.

Step 8: Draw the Tail
Draw a long, slightly tapered, and curved shape extending from the lower back of the otter for the tail.

Step 9: Color the Otter
Finish the drawing by coloring it. Use a medium brown/tan for the main body and head, and a lighter cream/white for the inner chest/abdomen. Use black for the nose and eyes.

Step 1: Draw the Body Outline
Start by drawing a large, rounded, peanut or pear shape for the main body of the otter. This will be the basic form.

Step 2: Add the Arms/Paws
Draw two small, curved arms extending outward from the upper sides of the body. Add simple, rounded paws (with small lines for toes) at the end of each arm.

Step 3: Add the Legs and Feet
Draw the two legs and feet at the bottom of the body. The feet should be flat and facing slightly forward, with small lines indicating toes.

Step 4: Add the Tail
Draw a thick, tapered tail extending from the lower back of the body. It should be wide at the base and narrow to a rounded point.

Step 5: Add the Ears
Draw two small, curved, C-shaped ears on the top of the head.

Step 6: Add the Eyes and Eyebrows
Draw two small oval or curved shapes for the eyes. Above each eye, draw a small, simple arch for the eyebrows.

Step 7: Draw the Nose and Mouth
Draw a small, inverted triangle for the nose. Below the nose, draw a small, curved line to create the mouth and smile.

Step 8: Draw the Belly Shape
Draw a large, curved inner shape on the front of the otter’s body. This line defines the area of the lighter-colored belly.

Step 9: Add the Whiskers
Draw a few simple lines extending outwards from the cheeks/snout area on both sides to represent the whiskers.

Step 10: Color the Otter
Finally, color the otter. Use a darker brown/tan for the main body, arms, legs, and tail, and a lighter cream/tan for the belly area you outlined in Step 8. Color the nose black and the eyes dark.

Step 1: Draw the Head Outline
Begin by drawing a large, slightly oval or rounded shape for the head. The bottom may be slightly pointed.

Step 2: Add the Ears
Draw two small, curved C-shapes on the sides of the top of the head for the ears.

Step 3: Draw the Nose
Draw a small, rounded triangle shape in the center of the face for the otter’s nose.

Step 4: Draw the Snout Line
Draw a curved line extending horizontally from both sides of the nose. This line defines the snout area.

Step 5: Add the Eyes
Draw two large circles for the eyes, placing them above the snout line. Inside each circle, draw a smaller circle for the iris/pupil.

Step 6: Draw the Mouth
Below the nose, draw two small, curved lines that meet in the middle to form a simple, smiling mouth.

Step 7: Add the Arms/Paws
Draw two short, curved arms coming down from the bottom of the head. Add simple, rounded paws (with small lines for toes) at the end of each arm.

Step 8: Draw the Body Outline
Draw a large oval or rounded U-shape below the head and arms to form the main body of the sitting otter.

Step 9: Add the Feet
Draw two large, rounded foot shapes at the bottom of the body. They should be positioned in front of the lower body, with small lines to indicate toes.

Step 10: Draw the Belly Line
Draw a final inner line—a small arch or curve—in the center of the lower body. This line defines the lighter-colored belly patch.

Step 11: Complete the Tail
Draw a long, slightly curved shape tapering to a rounded point extending downwards from the center bottom of the body. The tail should be wider at the top and narrower at the bottom.

Step 12: Color the Otter
Color the main parts of the head, body, arms, legs, and tail a medium brown or gray-brown color. Color the muzzle and chest white or a very light cream/tan. Color the nose dark gray or brown, and fill in the pupils of the eyes with black, leaving the smaller highlight circles white.

Step 1: Draw the Head Shape
Begin by drawing a large, rounded shape for the head. The sides should be slightly indented to suggest cheeks.

Step 2: Draw the Arms and Paws
Draw two curved lines extending down from the bottom of the head for the arms. Add small, curved shapes at the end of each arm to create the paws, including small lines to indicate fingers.

Step 3: Define the Chest/Belly
Draw a large, U-shaped or curved line in the center of the body to define the area that will be the lighter-colored chest or belly.

Step 4: Draw the Lower Body and Feet
Draw a large, rounded shape for the lower body (hips and rear end) beneath the arms. Add the two feet at the bottom of the body. Draw curved shapes with small toes on each.

Step 5: Draw the Tail
Draw a thick, tapering tail extending from the lower body on the side. It should curve slightly upward.

Step 6: Draw the Ears
Draw two small, rounded shapes on the top of the head for the ears. Include a small inner line in each ear.

Step 7: Draw the Nose and Mouth
Draw a small, rounded circle for the nose. Add a curved line underneath for the mouth, forming a simple, friendly smile.

Step 8: Draw the Eyes and Eyebrows
Draw two large, concentric circles for the eyes. These circles will form the outer edge, iris, and pupil. Add small, curved lines above each eye for the eyebrows.

Step 9: Draw the Muzzle Line and Whiskers
Draw a curved line on each side of the face connecting the nose area to the cheeks to define the muzzle area. Draw several thin, curved lines extending outward from the cheeks on each side for the whiskers.

Step 10: Color the Otter
Color the main body, head, arms, and tail a medium brown color. Color the muzzle area and the chest/belly area a lighter tan or cream color. Color the nose dark brown or black. Color the eyes with blue or black irises, leaving the small highlight circles white.

Step 1: Draw the Top of the Head and Ears
Begin by drawing a shallow, curved line for the top of the head (indicated in red). Add two small, rounded bumps for the ears.

Step 2: Draw the Main Body Outline
Extend the lines from the ears downwards, drawing a smooth, elongated shape for the body. The body should be wider at the top and taper slightly towards the bottom.

Step 3: Draw the Arms
Draw two small, curved shapes on the sides of the body for the arms/paws. One arm is partially visible on the left, and the other is bent on the chest on the right.

Step 4: Draw the Hind Paws
Draw two vertical, curved shapes near the bottom of the body. These represent the large, upturned hind paws.

Step 5: Draw the Tail
Draw a long, slightly curved shape extending from the bottom of the body to form the tail.

Step 6: Draw the Nose, Mouth, and Eyes
Draw a small, rounded shape with a small inverted curve beneath it for the nose and mouth. Add two small, curved lines above the nose/mouth area to represent the closed, smiling eyes.

Step 7: Draw the Belly Outline
Draw a large, elongated oval shape in the center of the body. This will define the lighter-colored belly area.

Step 8: Add Whiskers
Draw a few thin, straight lines extending outwards from the sides of the nose area for the whiskers.

Step 9: Color the Otter
Color the main body, head, arms, and tail a medium gray color. Color the central belly area (defined by the oval) a lighter tan or cream color. Color the nose dark brown or black.
