Today, drawing123.com will guide you how to easily draw characters from Smiling Critters with simple steps.
Let’s get started!
Step 1
Start by drawing the basic outline of the head. It should be a large, slightly rounded shape with a distinct ‘W’ or heart-like curve at the top to suggest the brow/forehead.
Step 2
Add the ears. Draw two circles or ring shapes on top of the head outline.
Step 3
Draw the outlines of the arms and hands. The arms should extend outwards, ready for a hug, and the hands should have simple, rounded fingers.
Step 4
Add the wrist and hand details. Draw small, short lines (like wristbands or wrinkles) on the inside of each hand.
Step 5
Draw the sides of the body/torso. Add two curved lines extending downwards from the armpits to begin the body shape.
Step 6
Complete the legs and feet outline. Draw a continuous, curved line to form the lower body, including the rounded shape of both legs and feet.
Step 7
Add the toe details. Draw short, curved lines on the end of each foot to suggest toes or claws.
Step 8
Draw the small tail on the side of the body. It looks like a simple, curved ‘B’ or folded shape.
Step 9
Draw the eyes. Sketch two large, oval shapes inside the head outline.

Draw the mouth and nose. Add the wide, open-mouthed grin with a curved line for the bottom of the mouth and a distinct ‘M’ shape for the upper lip/nose area, completing the cheerful expression.

Now that the basic outline is complete, add a heart shape around the neck/chest area. This will be Bobby BearHug’s iconic pendant.
Step 12
Draw the chest and stomach details. Add a central vertical line down the torso from the heart, and then two curved lines on either side to define the stomach area. This creates the impression of a distinct belly panel.

Now it’s time to add color! Color the main body, head, ears, and arms red. Fill in the eyes with black. Color the inside of the mouth dark pink or red, the stomach panel and the tips of the hands and feet light pink, the heart pendant on the chest dark red or maroon.

Draw the trunk. Sketch a long, curved shape in the center of the face, starting from between the eyes, with a spiral detail at the bottom for the tip. This is Bubba’s nose/trunk.

Draw the mouth and smile. Add a very wide, open-mouthed grin, connecting the sides of the face and running underneath the trunk.
Step 10
Draw the light bulb pendant. Sketch a simple light bulb shape hanging from a line around the character’s neck.
Step 11
Add the hand and leg bands. Draw two horizontal, curved lines on the end of each arm to create the cuff details, and two similar horizontal lines above the feet on each leg.
Step 12
Color the main body, head, and limbs light blue. Color the inside of the ears, the trunk outline, and the cuffs/bands on the hands and feet dark blue. Fill in the eyes black. Color the inside of the mouth dark red/pink and the light bulb pendant yellow.

Start with the lower curve of the head. Draw a simple, wide, upward-curving line.

Add the side cheek fluff. Draw a few short, curved lines on both ends of the previous curve to suggest the fluffy cheeks.

Complete the top of the head. Draw a smooth, dome-like curve connecting the cheek fluff on both sides, with a very slight dip in the middle.

Draw the pointed cat ears. Sketch two large, triangular, or pointed shapes on the top of the head, adding an inner line in each to define the ear structure.

Draw the nose/snout and the inner nostrils. Sketch a small, curved line inside the upper part of the mouth. Add two small, dark, curved lines inside this shape to represent the nostrils.

Add the eyes and eyebrows. Draw two large, prominent circles for the eyes just above the nose/snout. Add smaller circles inside them for the pupils. Above the eyes, draw two small, curved lines for the eyebrows.
Step 10
Draw the apple necklace. Finish the drawing by sketching an apple shape hanging from a thin line around the character’s neck.

Color the main body, head, and limbs light pink. Use a darker pink for the inner of the ears, the snout, and the tips of the feet and hands. Fill in the eyes and the wide opening of the mouth black. Color the small tongue/lower lip and the apple pendant red.
